acid stain driveway

Many contractors make borders and designs on driveways using decorative stamping or exposed aggregate. But that can be very expensive. You can use concrete stains to achieve this. This driveway was enhanced with tan and black acid stains, an inexpensive way to customize the look yourself.

We poured this driveway and came back a month later to apply the stains; first a complete coat of tan and then a complete coat of very diluted black stain. It was applied with a paint brush in a swift, circular motion. The outline of the diamonds was scored with an angle grinder and control joints were used to make the borders.

This a very simple way to decorate a driveway that any do-it-yourselfer can do.
