Basement floor epoxy experience

basement floor with epoxy paint

My husband and I painted our basement floor using the 'Epoxy Shield' Basement Floor Coating Kit. It was very easy to use and created a nice waterproof finish for the basement. The kit came with decorative chips which gave it a professional look and the color really complemented the stone walls. We were very pleased with the overall look; however, if we were to repeat the job we would definitely ensure that we had more than enough paint in order to successfully complete the job. Unfortunately we didn't measure the floor dimensions and only purchased one kit, so we scarcely had enough paint to finish the job and ended up with a really thin layer in one corner of the room. Unfortunately the paint is cracking quite a lot over time – probably a consequence of the thin layer applied. I would definitely recommend this kit – just make sure you apply a reasonably thick layer!
