No other flooring can match the strength, durability, versatility, and economic value of a concrete basement floor. If you have a basement already or are building a home with a basement, you should really examine the options concrete has to offer.
Forget about carpet and tile! How about something that's never going to need replaced?
In the spring of 2008, parts of Indiana suffered the worst flooding in recorded history. Although I would never wish that kind of devastation and heartache on anyone, it ended up being a blessing in disguise for our company.
Within a few days following the disaster, the phone began ringing off the hook. The restoration process was underway and people were searching high and low for concrete contractors. Why would that be? Flooding doesn't damage concrete. Well it wasn't the concrete itself that suffered damage, it was the flooring on top of the concrete that was ruined, particulary in basements.
But why were they calling us and not carpet or tile companies? It became more obvious that the popularity of decorative concrete for interior flooring is spreading.
As the carpet and tile was being ripped out and thrown away, many wondered about the possibilty of having to go through that again. And for some this wasn't the first time and probably wouldn't be the last. It's a huge hassle and very costly. So why not forget about new carpet or tile and just stick with concrete? It could save lots of money and trouble in the long run.
The flooding kept us busy for quite a while. I was running around like crazy giving estimates and signing on new customers. Although I enjoy meeting new customers, it is sometimes the most difficult part of the job. Most people are shocked and overwhelmed by the diversity and unlimited options that decorative concrete flooring has to offer. It's tough to make a decision with so many choices.

A basement floor could be the most common undiscovered treasure in a home. You don't need to cover it up with some other makeshift flooring. Instead, take adavantage of the strength, durability, versatility, and inherent beauty of a concrete slab. It could easily be one of the wisest investments you make for your home. There are many advantages to decorative concrete that are unmatched by any other type of flooring.
