Difference Between Cement and Concrete?

Although the two words are often used interchangeably, there is a difference between cement and concrete. Cement is just one ingredient of concrete.

Cement is a powder containing calcium compounds, silica, alumina, and iron oxide. It is created by heating materials such as limestone, shale, clay, and fly ash.

Concrete is a combination of cement, water, and various aggregates(sand and gravel). When the water is added, a process called hydration begins. During hydration, cement and water form a paste that hardens and binds the aggregates together forming a rocklike mass called concrete.
