Concrete Stain Basement Floor

concrete stain faux finish

This is a basement floor that had carpet on it. The carpet glue had to be removed with SOY gel but the areas with the glue were still visible. Because of this, acid stains and regular water based stains would not have been a good choice because those spots would show. Instead, a polymer stain was used because it covers like paint. After applying a couple coats of red stain, some black was applied on top using the "rag on" faux finsh method. After drying, a coat of urethane sealer was applied to protect and shine the finish.
