Cost for epoxy garage floor paint

by Jillian
(Rhode Island)

Q. How much would it cost me to get epoxy garage floor paint? My garage is about 400 square ft.

A. To get a good product and all the other material for prep, it should cost you about $0.50 per sq ft, or about $200. This includes applying a clear coat of high quality sealer on top. But you could spend quite a bit more or a little less depending on the brand and strength of the epoxy paint. Unless your garage is going to get heavy use and traffic, you don't need an industrial strength epoxy. The stuff you buy at the home improvement store should be sufficient.
The prep work is the key to getting it to last and applying a clear sealer to act as the wearcoat.
