Discoloration after sealing acrylic concrete stain

by Amber daSilva
(Brooklyn, NY USA)

Q. I recently stained my concrete patio with acrylic stain, and followed it with a concrete sealer. Unfortunately I now have white roller marks all over the patio from the sealant. Is there any way to fix this?

A. This usually happens if the sealer isn't mixed before before it's applied or there just isn't enough sealer down. The solution is to apply more sealer and maybe a little heavier. Try it on a small area first and be sure to mix the sealer thoroughly. As sealer sits on the shelf the solids settle to the bottom.
