Epoxy paint on concrete basement floor

Q. Can I paint a latex covered concrete floor with epoxy paint?
A. Yes you can, but you must do thorough preparation if you want it to last. Scuff the existing paint with coarse sand paper. You might want to rent a floor buffer with a sanding disk if the floor is big enough. Then clean the floor with a cleaner/degreaser and be sure to remove all residue. Let the floor dry completely and you're ready for epoxy.
