Q. How do i figure out how many yards of concrete i will need for flatwork, is there some kind of mathematical formula?
A. You must find the volume of the area to be filled which is length x width x depth. Then divide this by 27 to get cubic yards. A 20 x 20 slab that is 6 inches thick would be (20 x 20 x 0.5) / 27 = 7.4 cubic yards. Always add 10% - 15% more to make sure you don't run out.
