mystery concrete sealer resists snow build-up and promotes ice melting.

Q. My, slightly eccentric, next door neighbor applied some kind of sealer to his driveway, that resists snow build up and dries faster after being shoveled. He won't tell me what it is. His concrete driveway is 20 feet from my concrete driveway. After the last snow fall, his driveway had an even 1/2" of snow on it: mine had a wavy, 1 1/4" of snow on it. After about 1 day, the snow totally disappeared from his driveway, without any shoveling; my driveway is still snow covered. That has been happening ever since he poured and sealed his driveway, about ten years ago. He still must shovel deep snow but the light snows just disappear. What concrete sealer does that and where can I get some?

A. Have you asked him? Because I would sure like to know if such a sealer exists. Maybe he has a radiant heating system under the concrete.
