Polymer overlay

by Lisa M.
(Minnesota)

Q. What is a polymer overlay?

A. A polymer overlay is a concrete topping that blends polymer resins, cement, sand and other additives for enhanced performance, strength, and versatility.

A polymer is a natural or synthetic compound consisting of smaller identical molecules linked together. Resins are natural or synthetic substances used to make plastics and adhesives.

A polymer overlay can be applied as thin as a postcard or up to several inches thick. The resin additives provide strong adhesion to existing surfaces to prevent delamination.

We use polymer overlays because they're stronger, last longer, and are easier to work with, and offer much more versatility than a simple cement topping.
