Q. Three years ago we had a spray-on surface applied to our in-ground pool decking. It looked great for 1.5 years then began to stain, peel, and crack. The installer is nowhere to be found.
We are planning on selling our house and need to fix this problem economically. What options do we have?
A. The problem is either caused by improper installation or poor quality products. The long term solution would be to grind off existing overlay and have a new one installed. However, since you need a cheap fix, your best option would be to find concrete paint of a similar color and just roll on top of the overlay. I would recommend a slip-resistant additive such as Shark Grip for safety reasons. This should last long enough to sell the house. Keep your leftovers in case you need to touch up down the road.
