Remove epoxy floor paint

by Jimmy
(Houston TX)

Q. We spilled some epoxy floor paint on the tile when we were painting the garage floor. What's the best method to remove it without damaging the tile?

A. I'm not sure what a typical paint stripper would do to a tile floor. I've never come across that situation. But there are products that are soy based that will do the job without harming or discoloring the tile. These soy products are also low odor, non toxic, and easy to work with. You can get it in a gel form. Just spread the gel on the epoxy paint and let sit for a while, maybe 30-40 minutes. It will soften the paint and then you can wipe it off.
You can't find this stuff in stores yet but you can find it here
Keep any leftovers around because this stuff is good for removing just about any adhesives or coatings.
