Q. I removed green carpet from the front porch a year ago because it left black matter on concrete so I thought if I left it it would wear off ( wrong),so i bought an angle grinder to grind it off. It takes off the black but glue is left(grinder wont take it off). How can I get the glue off because we want to stain or color the porch floor. The concrete is very rough.
A. For concrete with a rough texture, the easiest way to get the glue off is to grind off the concrete surface. But you have to use a diamond grinder. You can buy a diamond cup wheel for your angle grinder, but it will be cheaper, faster, and easier to rent a walk behind diamond grinder. Just be sure to keep the grinder moving. If you stay in one spot for a few seconds it will dig and leave a ring. It makes a dusty mess so wear a mask.
