Re-sealing a concrete driveway.

by Davina
(North Carolina)

Q. A colored seal was applied to our driveway last year. The contractor only applied one coat and the sealer is fading in areas where the driveway is more porous and one can see the roller marks.

Can we clean the driveway by power washing it and then re-seal it?

A. You can use a power washer to clean the driveway. In fact this is the easiest and fastest way to do it. Just make sure you adjust the tip or the pressure so that you don't strip the existing sealer. If it already has a coat of sealer then it should be fairly easy to clean with little pressure needed.
