This sidewalk and porch was overlayed using a stamped concrete overlays. First a thin coat of polymer topping was applied as the primer coat. Then a 1/4 inch of heavy grade polymer topping was applied using a gage rake. When it began to set, a clear liquid released was sprayed on and stamping began with roman slate texture mats. A few hours later, before the overlay hardened too much, the pattern was carved into to overlay using a drywall carving tool. The next day, acrylic stain was applied and then we sealed it with two coats of solvent based acrylic sealer.
