We love the finish

by Andy
(Florida, USA)

We used acid staining for two of our rooms and the effect is very beautiful. We used the Kemiko stain. We applied it ourselves. It wasn't too complex or difficult. The trick is to not overdo it. We also used the metallic gold liquid stencil to our stained floor. Everyone, who comes to our home, comments and compliments our floor. Most people don't understand that it's concrete. They think its some expensive tile. We had applied 1/4" quilting tape to make the appearance of grout lines. We made sure that the floor was clean and dry before we started off. After we finished staining, we used Johnson's "Future" to protect the finish. We make sure we regularly clean the acid stained concrete to keep our acid stain finish looking like new. We clean it regularly with a mild detergent. Remember to not use any solvent based, or chlorine based cleaners on the acid stained surface. Also we remove any oil stains immediately using a mild degreaser and washing it afterwards.
